Free web services that make
online life worth living
We've been searching the web for many years in order to find the most
exclusive, useful and in-demand free tools for fellow web developers.
Today, we're proud to present, in our opinion, stunning services, which
bring the best in Internet making.
1 Free
Web Ware
Founded by a 16-year old individual from Pakistan, Free Web Ware is not yet well-known. However, the value of free tools that Free Web Ware brings its users is enormous. While many popular free-webmaster-tool web sites are terrorizing webmasters with excessively annoying advertising, Free Web Ware has absolutely no advertising in any of their soon-to-be 14 tools!
The built-in user control panel allows developers to create as many polls or forums as they want. Free Web Ware went even further in delivering such demanding tools as: secure forms, credit card processing (coming soon), message boards, counters, URL redirection, live chats, award-system and more!
It still leaves us guessing as to how on Earth they can survive and for how long, but the project seems to have different plans in mind. They are seen to be advertised on different global search engines (ex.: Yahoo!), fighting for every sign-up they can get.
And with all they offer we have no doubt they will get what they deserve - thankful and loyal webmasters.

Digital
Windmill
"When the wind blows... some build walls... others build windmills." - Says the company to the world. And it proves to be right. Their branded web search solutions create a little panic in the search engine world as now every web site can have its own professional search portal without the site owner having to know any kind of programming.
The company has three registration-free search solutions to offer webmasters: Directory (based on Open Directory Project) with over 2.5 million listings in it, MetaSearch - free search engine for your web site and Amazon Search, built specially for Amazon.com associates, which allows them to setup nice-looking searches for books, music and videos saving their own associate ID, so no commission is lost.
Over 3000 web sites are using their service, including our own TheWorldJournal.com Media Network (click here for our search page as an example). As Digital Windmill doesn’t run a search portal of their own, they keep their focus on supporting their users, which really adds even more respect for the company.
The service is available to everyone and it is registration-free. For all of that and much more, Digital Windmill has our attention at our free service showcase.
3
Ad
Butler
The third place on our list is AdButler.com - advertising management system from Sparklit. It is almost impossible to compare this system with other similar projects for it is used by such corporate clients as IBM, Microsoft, The New York Times, Compaq, Boeing, Merrill Lynch and many more. This makes Ad Butler the definite leader in the industry, which is good news because webmasters get the benefit.
The service, which has everything web sites of all sizes can ever possibly need, is free for use. There is, however, a charge of 7.5% that Sparklit charges to insert their own banners to keep the service free. We did check the percentage charged by other free ad-systems and 7-8% seems to be the average.
Free version of Ad Butler offers not all, but major features and essential tools that small or medium-sized web sites might need. One of the many features let’s you insert an HTML code, which allows you to easily handle promotional codes given to site owners by affiliate programs. Sparklit advertising management system also let's you create an account with the access to campaign's statistics for an advertiser you deal with.
4
Cafe
Press
It is a different kind of e-retailing. Cafe Press lets its users sell merchandise with their own custom logo and earn money at the same time. The best part is that store owners don't have to own anything; there is no programming experience needed, no business infrastructure or customer service to worry about. It is all done by Cafe Press - automatically and free of charge.
Moreover, there is a chance to earn real cash if your web traffic is high enough. All you need to do is price the items a little higher than their base price, determined by Cafe Press. Cafe Press is used by many web sites (Salon.com, for example, sells its merchandise based on Cafe Press' custom shopping mall.).
It is highly recommended for everyone who is willing to take their web site to the next level by providing your own items with your site's logo on it. How cool is that?
Do you know a tool or a service for webmasters, which need special
attention?
