Internet-Service ALERT HostOnce.com (communications, performance, billing) 1Uhost.com (communications, performance, billing) TheHostingWorks.com (performance, billing) BelaHost.com (billing) SiteTurn.com (billing) TellaHost.com (spamming, false information, performance, billing) Cheap web hosting companies are at a greater risk for fraudulent activities As much as many cheap hosting service providers tell you their services are as reliable as those who charge more, reasons to believe them are very weak. Some of those companies, who offer too much hardware and software for under $5 on the average, have been suspected of not living up to their promises. Companies like 1UHOST.com, which offer lots of features in their packages for so little price, do not create a lot of trust, so we decided to test them. We signed up for a service and they terminated our account in only 1 day based on unsubstantiated grounds. What really occurred no one will never know, but we received a couple of e-mails from other webmasters saying exactly the same thing happened with them. We suspect that these cheap web hosting companies who are communicating with their customers only by e-mail should not be trusted. They assume you will not bother with trying get a refund for the service, which truly takes a lot of time, so it’s a perfect scheme of charging the customer and terminating their services in the hopes that the customer will not bother with going after the company to recoup their losses. Investigating such company further, we found it to be based in Turkey, not even in the US, which makes it even more difficult to pursue them. SiteTurn.com hosting deals with fraud? Our own experience with SiteTurn hosting company and our own investigation led us to believe the following: SiteTurn has been cheating and overcharging their customers for quite some time. Fraudulent actions on the part of this company were noted by their own customers, who turned to us complaining. It’s important to note that people (including us) who had claims against this company, basically had to deal with being overcharged, sometimes being charged for something we did not order. Says one of the webmasters who wrote to us: "The company, even though they give what they promise, charged me more than once for the same package and refused to credit me back." A few other SiteTurn customers told us that the company was hacked not so long ago and their personal information, such as their personal e-mails, became the property of those hackers. Another web site owner told us he couldn't get his refund back for over 3 months, even though SiteTurn has a 30-day money-back guarantee in their agreement and he canceled the service after only 4 days of signing up. Do not get carried away when shopping online for tech-solutions A starved-to-death technology market has become increasingly aggressive towards its customers. Internet web hosting companies are the perfect example of such violent, dishonest business behavior. Please be aware than most web hosting customers suffer more often than not with getting their own money back when canceling services within the “guarantee” period. Remember to keep one thing in mind - they charge you very quickly as they want your money, but refunding your money isn't their first priority. They will create many reasons for not refunding your money, and they will cheat, they will lie and they will ignore your requests for as long as they can get away with it. So, our advice to you is choose one company you trust, ask your friends, read web hosting company's reviews that are not affiliated with companies themselves, read customer's feedback and sign up for the most trusted company you believe will serve your right. We strongly suggest you NOT sign up with web hosting companies who provide their e-mail address as the only possible way to contact them. It is always safer to pay a little more and have a secure feeling that you will get the service you deserve. Every message published goes through a series of processes, including analyzing public complaints, individual complaints received by e-mails, public communications, etc. This allows us to present those companies with a better accuracy. |
