8th Annual Boston Underground Film Festival Wednesday March 22nd – Sunday March 26th ‘In the world of ‘underground cinema’ we turn our cinematic attention to the filmic rarities of the art deco movie house. It’s a buried treasure of film reels stacked up high just waiting for a projectionist to warm up the good ole’ film projector at movie time. These are the films folks that spark a certain realm of mystery that can’t be acknowledged on Hollywood big screen theaters. Only BUFF can summon up some of the darker more disturbing film features, documentaries, and deserving shorts for the selected few. It’s likely that some of these brilliantly crafted pieces celluloid are not meant for all moviegoers. So, let’s open up that spider web clogged, dark and damp, dust invested archive and let’s see what underground pieces can we find shall we? I admit folks that once in a while I’m guilty too of strutting into a mainstream cinema catching a flick or two. But preferably I would enjoy a small filmic cult, experimental; art house oddities, or even an obscure picture would be to my cinematic likings. Yes, these films make their rounds to festivals the world over for all film fans to see and enjoy. But how often do you have the chance to see Damon Packard’s silent screamer ‘Reflections of Evil’ to the bizarre ‘Duck Children’, ‘The Fine Art of Poisoning’, and ‘Christopher Ford Sees a Film’ are all in reach. Beginning March 22nd we take an expedition into these haunting realms of devilishly clever, extreme, and worth- while movie going.’ Daniel Berman, TheWorldJournal.com Official Film Selections Released: Narrative Features: The Barn directed by Rudlah ***New England Premiere*** Camp Daze Hosted by director Alex Pucci East of Euclid directed by Jeff Solylo ***New England Premiere*** The French Guy Hosted by Writer/Director Ann Marie Fleming ***New England Premiere*** Horsie’s Retreat Hosted by Writer/Director Tony Asimakopoulos ***US Premiere*** Humouresque Hosted by Writer/Director Corey Michael Smithson ***World Premiere*** Marcus Hosted by Co-writers/Directors Bob Hardison and Rich Robinson ***New England Premiere*** Neighborhood Watch Hosted by Writer/Director Gramere Whifler ***New England Premiere*** Nightmare Hosted by Writer/Director Dylan Bank ***New England Premiere*** Pony Trouble!
