Chlotrudis Society for Independent Film Presents The 10th Annual Chlotrudis Awards Part 2
By Daniel Berman, TheWorldJournal.com

MARCH 28, 2004. In one glorious evening the 10th Annual Chlotrudis Awards selections are now part of cinematic history. The overall theme of the event called "Buried Treasure" where Chlotrudis Society takes another hard look at some of those films that deserve another view.

The awards night started off with the official winning picks began with the first awards category for Best Cast. The final winner in this category was the award winning film The Station Agent. Patricia Clarkson and Bobby Cannavale brought home their statuettes for Best Supporting Actress, and Best Supporting Actor wins. Other nominated cinematic features The Triplets of Belleville, Spellbound, and The Dancer Upstairs all got nominations in various categories.

During the four hour presentation we had a glimpse at a couple of nominated film clips from filmmaking treasures like Dracula: Pages from a Virgins Diary, Love & Diane, Melvin Goes to Dinner, Ten, and the talk of the evening Marion Bridge. The film came away with one of the highest honors of the evening and earned the prestigious Buried Treasure award. Marion Bridge is one of the finest pieces of independent entertainment and certainly deserves this honor.

Entertainment Reporter Sarah Edwards did a one-on-one commentary with actor Philip Seymour Hoffman as he was inducted to the Chlotrudis Hall of Fame. He also earned a statuette for his work in the film Owning Mahowny. Mr. Hoffman is no stranger to the Chlotrudis awards in 1998 he won the Chlotrudis Award for Best Supporting Actor for his work in Happiness and again in 1999 for Magnolia. He also earned the Breakthrough Award in 1998.

In the category of Best Short Film the win went to Katie Fleischer for her magnificent cinematic piece Bun-Bun.
