Major fashion players from around the world celebrate the anticipated the presentation of haute couture collections for autumn-winter 2003-04 in Paris. In spite of severe financial crisis in the fashion industry world's top luxury goods houses are ready to face upcoming season in full bloom.

Fashionistas will still be treated to a fabulous week of shows from Chanel, Emanuel Ungaro, Christian Dior, Christian Lacroix, Jean-Paul Gaultier and Valentino, among others, with two dozen additional labels on the unofficial list rounding out the full week-long calendar.

Elie Saab, who earned global fame when Halle Berry accepted her Best Actress Oscar last year in one of his glamorous creations, joins the Haute Couture week for the first time.

Femininity and exotic travel are the dominant themes of the collections, with John Galliano drawing inspiration from a trip to India and Spain. Lacroix also focus on flamenco dancers, while Stephane Rolland at Scherrer will use Asian-influenced details to highlight his decidedly Parisian collection. Chanel and Dior unveil their new jewelry collections, as will Boucheron, which is celebrating its 110th anniversary.
