Sunscreens Cause Health Problems
By Gauri Nawathe, TheWorldJournal.com

Gender - bending chemicals that have effects like those of oestrogen (estrogen) are common in sunscreens, warn Swiss researchers, who found that these chemicals can create developmental abnormalities in rats. Chemicals that behave like oestrogen (a sex hormone developing and maintaining female characteristics) can cause hormonal imbalances and health problems like uterine growth.

These chemicals have already been detected in breast milk. Scientist recommend that the 25 or so chemicals used in sunscreen should also be tested for hormonal activity.

As for this moment, it is not advised that people give up the use of sunscreens totally. But it is suggested that they use sun- blocks like zinc oxide instead, which are much more safe and healthy.
