| Killed, Not Defeated By Artashes Toumanov, TheWorldJournal.com There are absolutely no words to describe what happened on Tuesday, September 11, 2001 in the United States. An impossible became reality. And we all saw it live on television. Thousands of people are officially considered dead because of terrorist attacks in New York, Washington DC and Pittsburgh. Although the number of victims is uncountable as the whole world moans in grief. I was writing this article since Tuesday. I could not think of anything else but imagining myself up there in the building or in any of those four jets. I still can't think of the horror those victims might have been through. Terrorism is always bringing real-life horror, national tragedy and deaths of innocent people least waiting for something like this to happen. And almost every single time - terrorism is unstoppable. People were killed, but their spirit was not. The spirit in God and each other will renew the power of those who is in need. The strongest American spirit will finally win this war against Evil. As Mr. Bush said, this is a "new kind of war", the most difficult war than ever before. Not only we have to determine the attackers, but also we have to eliminate them so nothing like this happen ever again. But terrorism has no identity, has no territory, it is everywhere, using all possible techniques, which is why it is very difficult to stop something that could happen anytime, anywhere using any technique. However, the world and people are united. We know what we want and we work on in. And if we want to win this war, we have to admit that there are going to be more casualties. Only this time we have the whole world supporting our possible military actions. This war is for world peace, security and freedom. God bless America. © September 14, 2001 |
