$8,2 billion in Online Advertising

The volume of the Internet-advertising in USA in the year 2000 was $8,2 billion.

Representatives of the advertising industry presented more specified figures for the online advertising volume in USA. They also noted that the growth rate was a little slower than in the previous year. In comparison with 1999, the volume of advertising has increased only on 77%, whereas year back this growth has made 141%.

Interactive Advertising Bureau (IAB) has informed, that it was spent 8,2 billion dollars for advertising in the Internet in 2000, in 1999 - $4,62 billion, and in 1998 - only $1,92 billion.

31% of advertising was targeted on consumer goods, computer advertising - 18%, financial and business services advertising - 14% and 9% respectively.

The report was made by Pricewaterhouse Coupers company for IAB based on online advertising agencies' data.
