| A Harry Christmas By Ninawa Butrus, TheWorldJournal.com There are plenty of great movies out this Christmas for everyone to enjoy, but one of the most talked about films this year is Harry Potter and the Philosopher's Stone (also titled Harry Potter and the Sorceror's Stone) which is adapted from the best selling Harry Potter series by British children's author J.K. Rowling. Daniel Radcliffe plays Harry Potter, a boy who on his 11th birthday discovers he is a wizard and gets enrolled at Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry, where the story is told. Also starring are Robbie Coltrane (Hagrid), Rupert Grint (Ron Weasley), John Cleese (Nick), Maggie Smith (Prof. McGonagall), Richard Harris (Albus Dumbledore) and Tom Felton (Draco Malfoy). The movie is presented by Warner Bros. and is directed by Chris Columbus, who's also directed box office smash hit movies Home Alone and Home Alone 2: Lost in New York. There has been a massive Harry Potter hype worldwide, as Harry Potter becomes the next children's phenomenon since Pokemon. A range of merchandise is available, such as T-Shirts, sticker-books, figurines and the official soundtrack from the movie, which make great Christmas presents.
