With more than twenty million users worldwide, Napster company was ordered to shut down their service. Instead, Napster got every company's dream - a huge advertising campaign all over the globe. For only last several days Napster had the most active working days in their history.
Napster is more alive than it should be.

News number one

Napster has become the number one news all over the world. The reason for it - is a sensational scandal around their service.

Officials said that the damage from Napster hustle and bustle is more than $300 millions of US dollars. Well, that's what record companies figured. Nobody knows the true figure of losses.

To be honest, Napster is the luckiest online company. History doesn't know any other online company that got the same worldwide advertising campaign, even thorough the scandal. But we know that the best advertising - is a scandal. Napster is in the top news almost in all media channels all over the world. And that's all what Napster or any other company could dream about. According to some Napster users, they have never seen so much MP3 files until the beginning of this scandal. Especially, two-three days before official closing, people were breaking into the system to download as much as they can before Napster dies.

Eventually, Napster didn't die. Moreover, on its last day of living, Napster company put forward the appeal in the Court of Appeal. By doing that, Napster won more time or they just postponed their virtual death. Nobody can foresee the result of this case. What will happen with Napster: will it live or will it be ordered to shut down again? That's what we asked Harold Mitts, the founder of one online shop and the Internet expert. And that's what he said about Napster future:

"Napster will triumph in the appellate court. They do not offer the music from their storage facilities; they merely have created a platform where users can exchange data. And I believe the courts will see it this way.
To shut down Napster would be akin to charging the gun manufacturers with the murder of all persons slain by gun violence, it is not their fault that people use guns for crime."

Well, the only way to see if it's true is to wait the court decision, while Napster continues to succeed in MP3 business.

As good as it gets

Every day millions of people use Napster software. They connect into the server and download songs in MP3 format for free, as much as they can. That is what makes Napster the most popular MP3 source in the world. There is no advertising, no special offers - just music. Its users can even set all the parameters concerning an MP3 file. Moreover, Napster offers several extra free services, such as instant message to another user, chats, etc.

They made everything to make sure that people would love it. Actually, people loved it so much that it brought Napster to court. As far as I know, it calls a "blind love", doesn't it? Now, let's see what feelings does the judge have to Napster. Who knows - maybe he's one of them…
