A high-level preparation for the New Year 2001 continues in Moscow, Russia. According to Vladimir Kojin, Manager of President Administration, on December 23, 2000 near Red Square and History Museum a huge skating-rink is going to be opened. For kids this skating-rink is going to be free till January 12.

In addition, a New Year tree (more than 30 meters high) is going to be placed on the Red Square.

Those who are going to meet the new millennium on the Red Square are going to be surprised. Two huge monitors will broadcast two Russian TV-Channels. There is no fee to enter the New Year celebration on the Red Square.

Party administration also asks people not to bring their own fireworks of some kind. They promise them an amazing fireworks show.
